Sarah's Pesto Chicken Sandwich |

I give the food a rating of 8 because overall, it was very tasty. I got the Pesto Chicken Sandwich, which is described as a “grilled chicken breast topped with pesto, provolone cheese and bacon, served on toasted ciabatta with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise.” I requested mine to not come with tomatoes. I'm not a huge tomato or onion fan, so I was quite disappointed to receive onions on my sandwich, even though they were not listed on the menu. The french fries were cooked to pure perfection, crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth potato on the inside.
Price - 7
I went into Misty’s knowing that the menu was a bit on the pricey side, so I stayed away from some of the more expensive entrees. Misty’s is known for their prime rib, however a $36 steak is not something I could afford on a Wednesday night. I was able to spend just over $11 on my sandwich and french fries, which I felt was quite reasonable.
Service - 7
Overall, we had really good service. We were greeted pleasantly when we walked in the door and were promptly seated in our requested booth. Our server was quite friendly and was happy to give us a little more time to look over the menu before we placed our order. We were not given any straws with our drinks. Though a fairly minor detail, it was still kind of disappointing to not be able to use a straw with our drinks. Anna took leftovers home, but the waiter did not offer to get a box, rather just clear the table, so she had to ask separately for a box for the second half of her sandwich.
Atmosphere - 7
On a Wednesday afternoon right at 5pm, Misty’s was extremely quiet. There were just a handful of other diners in the restaurant so it was very quiet. The waitresses and waiters were extremely courteous of the quiet nature of the restaurant and did their best to stay quiet and to themselves while the customers were in the restaurant.
Convenience of Location - 8
For students living on campus, Misty’s is a great restaurant just a few blocks from the Union. There are two other Misty’s locations in Lincoln, all of which are fairly easy to get to. Even if someone were not able to walk downtown to go to Misty’s, driving is definitely an option as there are several nearby parking garages to choose from.
Anna's Honey-Ale Chicken Sandwich |

I ordered the Honey-Ale Chicken Sandwich, which their menu describes as, “grilled chicken, Swiss cheese, hickory-smoked bacon and honey-ale mayonnaise made with our orange wheat ale.” Their homemade mayo really added another level of citrus and hoppy flavor, which complemented the smoky flavor of the bacon. The chicken was nice and moist, and the fries were, wow, stupid good. I had honey mustard sauce to dip my fries in, which really stepped it up.
Price - 6
The sandwich I got was definitely very reasonable, but many of the other items on the dinner menu were very expensive, well out of my college kid budget. All of the pasta dishes were 20 dollars or more which seems a little on the pricey side.
Service - 8
The service was great, probably because we were there so early. The food arrived quickly, and our server was polite. We never got straws, and that seemed a little odd for a steakhouse to not provide.
Atmosphere - 7
The lights did a strange flicker when we first arrived. I thought it might have been the restaurant dimming the lights for the evening, but that probably happened around 5:15 or so that seemed a little early. Other than that strangeness, the restaurant was very relaxed while still maintaining a level of class.
Convenience of Location - 9
It was very easy to walk to Misty’s from campus, but they have a variety of locations over Lincoln, making it convenient for anyone to go to the restaurant. There’s plenty of parking garages nearby for those who are driving.
Average - 75/100
I would probably get the honey ale chicken. Nice job, Anna and Sarah! What eating establishment is up next?

ReplyDeleteGreat post, Anna and Sarah! I wonder if the location affects service and quality at all. I personally eat at the Havelock location for Misty's because my family has always loved the original atmosphere, and I don't know if the other locations have the same charisma. Regardless, the food is great! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Anna & Sarah! Your posts are making me so hungry! It is awesome that Lincoln has so many options for each type of food. I also love how you guys are doing the locations native to Lincoln, and not necessarily the "chain restaurants." Also, thank you for ranking each category by number. I think this really helps when deciding where to eat next, and where not to go. I can't wait to see where you venture to next!
ReplyDeleteHi Anna and Sarah! I've heard talk of Misty's ever since I first moved to UNL, but have never actually been because I've been deterred by the prices. Your post really helped me get a good idea of whether or not I would like Misty's without having to actually risk it. I'll have to eat there sometime, and after reading this blog post, I'll definitely have to try the fries :)
